Competition Rules
Goalkeeper competition which features 1 v 1 goalkeepers in 3-minute games. Goals can be scored by throwing, punting, drop kick or half volley, or
kicked from the ground
from each players own half of the field.
Games will commence with each keeper on his own goal line and ball placed at midfield.
Possession is maintained when a keeper makes a save that stays on their own half, and not over the goal or touch lines. If a keeper deflects a ball over the top for instance, or out of bounds, the opposing keeper will keep possession.
Once a keeper places the ball on the ground during play, they can not pick it back up. Keepers must attempt to score within 6 seconds.
Final score will be determined by goal differential, with tie-breakers being decided by 7 second breakaways starting from own goal line and each keeper can cross the midline. Once the ball is touched by the defending keeper, the attacking keeper cannot play the rebound.
The second keeper then has the breakaway to either match the first players goal, or in the event of the 1st keeper not scoring, win the contest with their own goal. This will continue until a winner is determined.
Goalkeepers participating in the Massapequa Showcase Tournament can participate by registering and are guaranteed 4 games prior to the elimination round. There will be T-Shirts for all participants and awards
for The LAST KEEPER STANDING.
Cost for the competition is $35.00 per goalkeeper.
