Hall Of Fame

The LIJSL Hall of Fame, established in 1978, seeks to honor those individuals who have made significant voluntary contributions to the development of youth soccer in the Long Island Junior Soccer League. Candidates may be nominated by any member club in good standing, or by any individual who is a member of the league in good standing. LIJSL Board members cannot nominate active fellow Board members.

The LIJSL Hall of Fame Committee also accepts nominations for induction into the LIJSL Veteran’s Hall of Fame. These candidates must meet all the qualifications of a Hall of Fame nominee. A candidate must have made long-term and significant positive contributions to youth soccer at various levels on Long Island, who have been overlooked or bypassed for Hall of Fame election by the regular selection process, and who are in good standing in their community. These candidates can no longer be eligible for selection by regular selection committee (i.e. never nominated, presently out of the youth soccer limelight, and therefore not likely to be nominated).

All nominations must be typed in triplicate and received by LIJSL Hall of Fame, 701-9 Koehler Avenue, Ronkonkoma NY 11779, no later than November 1st. Nominations should include a biography of the candidate’s contribution to youth soccer by email to lijsl@ix.netcom.com.
