The wait is almost over... Registration for the upcoming New York Red Bulls Regional Development School, hosted, and sponsored by LIJSL will
be open, on Monday, August 29th, at 9:00pm. Participation in the Long Island Junior Soccer League RDS is entirely free of charge, and is exclusively for LIJSL registered players
Intended only for the very highest level boys and girls aged 8 to 14, the RDS will comprise the very best talent in Long Island, born in each calendar year from 1998 to 2003. The RDS is not suitable for recreational or intermediate players, and only highly accomplished players are encouraged to apply for try out.
In a change from previous RDS programs, and as a result of the overwhelmingly positive feedback, successful applicants for the RDS will now have access to three full seasons of training, up to, and including the spring of 2012. Subject to acceptance at try out, this exclusive program features 18 weeks of training in total, all on Tuesday evenings, encompassing six weeks in the fall of 2011, six weeks in the winter of 2011/12, and an additional six weeks in the spring season of 2012.
Dates of the initial six weeks of fall training are September 27th to November 1st, 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Dates for the 6 week winter and spring seasons will be confirmed closer to the time.
This training includes:
* Supplementary individual training program that does not interfere with regular team commitments.
* Advanced curriculum focusing on individual technique and ball mastery.
* Low coaching ratio to ensure maximum coach-player interaction.
* Top level, internationally qualified coaches, hand picked from the NY Red Bulls’ training staff.
* All participants will receive a comprehensive end of season evaluation.
* Top players will earn the opportunity to try-out for the one-off showcase tournament teams, and represent the Red Bulls with the RDS’ other top players.
* Players who truly excel will be recommended to the Red Bulls Academy, and will have the opportunity to work towards a career as a professional soccer player.
Players who attend try-out are indicating a commitment to attend the full 18 weeks of training. More than one unexplained absence will result in withdrawal from the program, with spaces being offered to players on stand-by.
