RDS Spring Wrap Up-Summer Preview

As the training sessions for the Long Island RDS, hosted and sponsored by LIJSL, come to a close, I just wanted to explain the next steps within our program.

The crazy weather this spring has obviously led to a shortened program, but in light of the atrocious weather we have experienced this season, we are pleased to have successfully achieved 10 hours of continuous training over the past four weeks.

Player evaluations will be sent to parents via email within two weeks. You should be sure to share this with your child, as it should provide invaluable feedback on how they can improve further beyond the completion of the program.

This evaluation will also provide an opportunity for parents to provide your feedback on the program. We rely heavily on this survey, as the league's commitment to support this venture is dependent on the parental and player feedback we provide them.

The next opportunity to train with the RDS is as part of our week long summer camp. Although this summer camp is not funded by the league, it provides an excellent opportunity for players to continue their training with the RDS, in preparation for the fall try outs. You can see our summer schedule, and register on-line by clicking here. Please note that the RDS camp in Plainview is almost fully booked already, so it is important to register quickly to avoid disappointment.

Having completed a full season of the RDS, players are now eligible for the 20010/11 tournament teams. If your child has been selected to try out, you will be notified via email around September 2011. For more information on the RDS showcase tournament teams you can visit the RDS website by clicking here

All RDS programs feature the same great staff, and our advanced RDS curriculum and player evaluations.

We hope to see you over the summer,

Simon Barrow

Manager, Regional Development Schools (RDS)
