[UCLA-STANFORD] No. 2 Stanford got goals from Chioma Ubogagu and Rachel Quon two minutes apart to overcome a 1-0 deficit with 13 minutes to play and beat No. 3 UCLA, 2-1, in front of a UCLA record crowd of 4,068 on Sunday night. The win gave the Cardinal its fourth straight Pac-12 title and 41st straight conference win, the third longest in NCAA Division I history.

The loss was UCLA's first of the season and first in over a year, snapping a school-record 25-game unbeaten streak.
 
On the tying goal, Ubogagu pushed the ball forward in space, and Quon made a run off the left flank that drew a defender off Ubogagu, who calmly placed a low left-footed shot inside the right post from 22 yards.

On the winning winning goal, a high cross by Laura Liedle found Ubogagu on the left side. Quon took a short pass in the box, but her initial shot was blocked back to Ubogagu, who sent in another quick pass. This time, Quon settled it with her right foot and swung with her left, pushing the ball across the face of the goal and inside the right post from 10 yards out.

It was just the fifth in the collegiate career for the team captain and four-year starter.

UCLA head taken the lead less than four minutes after halftime when was freshman Taylor Smith scored off a rebound.

UCLA dropped to 15-1-2 on the year and 8-1-1 in the Pac-12. Stanford improved to 16-1-1, 10-0-0 in the conference.
