Carlos Slim, the world’s richest man, worth an estimated $69 billion, who is a big soccer fan, has decided to buy into Spain’s La Liga, and, according to a report from
"Libertad Digital," one of its teams, Getafe.
The Madrid-based club is looking for a buyer to cover its considerable debts. According to the report, Slim has started negotiations to buy the
club and plans to transform it into one of the biggest teams in Europe. The takeover is to be carried out by América Móvil, a media company which owns the broadcasting rights of La Liga
in Mexico, where Slim is from.
