U-17 game in Houston draws 8,000-plus [May 11, 2012]

The Houston Dynamo debuts in its new stadium, BBVA Compass Stadium, Saturday against D.C. United. But the stadium hosted its first soccer game on Thursday in a "soft opening" that pitted the Houston Dynamo Academy against the U.S. U-17 boys national team.

The U.S. U-17s, with two goals from Ahinga Selemani and one by Tyler Turner, won, 3-0, in front of 8,611.

Saturday's MLS game in the 22,000-seat stadium is sold out.
