When it comes to soccer events in the United States, few can parallel the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s
Convention. No other event matches the fun, excitement and learning opportunities this annual gathering offers to soccer coaches at all levels of the game.
Whether it’s learning the basics of coaching goalkeepers or a high-level discussion of systems of play, every coach who attends will find something new to add to their soccer repertoire. And the coaching instruction is just the beginning – the four-day program is filled with a myriad of opportunities to mix and mingle with some of the most prominent names on the soccer landscape.
“The NSCAA Convention is the most important event of the year for the business side of soccer, and we recognize that it’s imperative to be an active participant,” said United Soccer Leagues CEO Alec Papadakis. “The relationships we develop at the NSCAA Convention will help us to provide all USL teams with the level of service they deserve."
In terms of serving the soccer community, the NSCAA holds nothing back. Literally, nearly every organization in the United States that has anything to do with the game of soccer has some type of presence at the convention. Over 300 soccer-related trade companies take space in the huge exhibition hall, and attendees can get a first-hand look at the latest in soccer
equipment, technology, and training tools. There will be coaching clinics and technical demonstrations, and the MLS will once again hold its annual SuperDraft at the convention
The convention also serves as the culminating event of the NSCAA’s extensive awards program. There is a special luncheon for the NSCAA All-America honorees, and Friday night’s awards banquet includes some of the biggest names in the American soccer coaching ranks as well as the presentation of the organization’s National youth, high school, and college Coaches of the Year awards.
