The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) is very pleased to announce that it is adding a State Cup competition.
“The goal of tens of thousands of travel team and premier soccer players in Eastern New York is to win the State Cup,” commented ENYYSA President Richard Christiano. “Due to the exponential growth of youth soccer, there is a diverse level of ability among our thousands of teams. Adding this third State Cup competition ensures that all these teams and players will be competitive in their games.”
The State Open Cup, officially known as the US Youth Soccer Eastern NY State Championship, remains for Premier plus Division 1 and 2 teams but as the Open name suggests, any team regardless of division can enter. The team entry fee has been reduced to $175. Our State Open Cup champions represented ENYYSA in the Regionals from June 28 to July 3 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Two ENYYSA teams, the Girls-Under-12 OMM/World Class Patino of the Hudson Valley Youth Soccer League and Boys-Under-15 Manhattan Paris Saint-Germain of the Westchester Youth Soccer League, won Regionals. Only the champions of the State Open Cup go on to play in the Regionals and potentially the Nationals as the State Open Cup is part of the National Championship Series.
The new competition, for excellent teams in each ENYYSA league, will be named the ENY Upper 90 Cup. The teams entering would not be Premier League teams.
The third competition, rebranded as the Arch Capital Group Cup, is for travel teams that ability-wise are below the best teams in each ENYYSA league. Title sponsor Arch Capital Group writes insurance and reinsurance on a worldwide basis through operations in the United States, Bermuda, Canada and Europe, with a focus on specialty lines.
The team entry fee for both the ENY Upper 90 Cup and Arch Capital Group Cup is $100.
