It is with great sadness that the Long Island Junior Soccer League announces the passing of Stefan Mueller of Glen Cove.
He died suddenly on Saturday.
Stefan grew up in Glen Cove and played for the Glen Cove Soccer Club in the Long Island Junior Soccer League. He later became a standout player in the LISFL with Forest Park FC and the Glen Cove AC. He is the brother of former Rough Riders star Danny Mueller (1994-1996), and is the nephew of LIJSL Hall Of Famer Marco Maluso.
Known for his love of soccer and his always fun-loving spirit, Mueller was 47 years old.
"On behalf of all of Stefan's teammates and friends, we are shocked and saddened by this loss," said LIJSL Director of Commercial Development Jim Kilmeade, who was a teammate of Mueller's with Glen Cove AC. "Stefan was a great and passionate player in our midfield, and just a great friend and teammate to us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with Stefan’s family."
