The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) congratulates Emily Teepe of Northport upon receiving a $1,000 Patricia Louise Masotto/Brenda Driscoll Scholarship. Emily also recently received an LIJSL scholarship this year.

Emily wrote in her essay, “Soccer has always been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember, and continues to be an everyday hobby for myself. Growing up with a father who was always a Division 1 women’s soccer coach only furthered my passion for the game…As I began to grow older, I joined the Select and Eastern New York ODP teams, and even attended Regional Camp. My dream for the future was to play on a Division 1 soccer team and to play against my father’s team in one of those games. My dream came true when I got recruited to the Manhattan College women’s soccer team, which is Division 1. My dream was cut short when my father lost his job as a soccer coach, and through all the struggle and pain it has caused me, it also motivated myself as well to work harder as a player.”

Emily was a four-year starter at Northport High School, earning All-Conference honors and was named the team's Most Valuable Player her senior year after leading Northport to an 11-2-2 overall record. She played club soccer for the Northport/Cow Harbor Rush of the Long Island Junior Soccer League

The scholarship’s namesakes, Patricia Louise Masotto and Brenda Driscoll of Massapequa, were best friends and top women’s soccer players. The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association set up a scholarship in their name after they were tragically killed by a drunk driver in Farmingdale in 1985.
