Pink Ribbon Day at Soccer Park - Sunday, October 14th, 2012 [ Oct 11, 2012 ]

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Long Island Junior Soccer League, in conjunction with representatives of The Estee Lauder Companies, will be handing out “Pink Ribbon” bracelets and ribbons to all members of the 38 U15 girls’ teams playing at the Peter C. Collins Soccer Park this Sunday, October 14th. They will also be handing out brochures with information celebrating The Estee Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign (BCA) 20th Anniversary. The 2012 BCA Campaign theme is:

“Courage. Believe in a world without breast cancer. Know we’re here until it's true.”

The Estee Lauder Companies' Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign supports The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF) which was founded by Mrs. Evelyn H. Lauder.

The mission of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® is to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime by providing critical funding for innovative clinical and translational research at leading medical centers worldwide, and increasing public awareness about good breast health. Currently, 91 cents of every dollar spent by BCRF is directed towards breast cancer research and awareness programs.

The Long Island Junior Soccer League is proud to support The Estee Lauder Companies and The Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, and urges our many members to do what they can to support The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®.

The BCA Campaign is donating $1 to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® for every post on the BCA Campaign's interactive timeline on Facebook during the month of October up to a maximum of $25,000.
