LIJSL PDP And ODP Playing Friendlies This Spring

The LIJSL Player Development Program is playing several friendlies against the Eastern New York Olympic Development Program this spring.

The first round of games was played on Monday, April 29. A game was also played on May 6 with following friendly dates planned for May 13 and May 20. The games will all be played at the Peter C. Collins Soccer Park in Plainview.

“I believe the scrimmage games against ODP show our players what the next step looks like for them and their development,” LIJSL Technical Director Ronan Wiseman said. “They get a chance to test themselves against the ODP players so they can see what it takes to get to the next level.”

“These friendlies give the players on both teams the opportunity to play a local game at a high level while also giving us a chance to look at all the players, including the PDP players who could progress to ODP,” said Jim Volpe, who is the ODP Chairperson.
