The U.S women’s national team earned their fourth FIFA Women’s World Cup title in France on Sunday with a 2-0 victory over the Netherlands. It was the team’s second straight title at the World Cup.
Megan Rapinone, who ultimately took home the tournament’s Golden Boot and Golden Ball, opened the scoring in the 61st minute. Rose Lavelle doubled the lead shortly after in the 69th minute in the win.
The world champions have two connections to LIJSL with starting full back Crystal Dunn as well as Allie Long.
