The Long Island Cup, which is presented by Petro Home Services, is one of the largest single-elimination youth soccer tournaments on the east coast.
The competition is for both boys and girls and is held in concurrence with the LIJSL spring season, running from March to June. Teams play their Cup games on their off day from their league season. There are multiple brackets and flights of play (Major, Intermediate, Minor) that teams may enter in their age group to play for the right to become a Long Island Champion.
Games are held at the home team’s field for any given round until the final. The Long Island Cup Final is then a two-day event at Stony Brook Soccer Club’s P-Lot Fields.
Rounds Of Play
May 11-12 (Quarterfinals)*
June 1-2 (Semifinals)*
June 15-16 (Finals)*
*Play on off day from league schedule
All rounds are front loaded, which means if your team has advanced to Round 3, but there is an opponent for you to play on the Round 2 weekend, then your game will be scheduled on the Round 2 weekend.
If both home teams win in the previous round, the team that is listed in the top slot in the bracket for the next round will be the home team. If both away teams win in the previous round, the team listed on top in the next round will be the home team. There is one exception when the team advancing in the draw bracket on the top line was the home team during the previous round of competition and the team advancing on the bottom line of the draw bracket was the away team during the previous round of competition, the team that was the away team will be given the home team designation in the next round.
Only ENYYSA State Cup games will take precedence over LI Cup games. Notice must be provided no less than two days after advancing to the next round of ENY State Cup. No other game changes will be made. During the LI Cup there are not two game change requests like during the league season.
